The Original

Last week while meandering through the streets of Ladysmith via the computer and Google maps, I found myself on Highway 8 taking a virtual drive past 711 Lake Avenue west. The drive by was not in today's world but in the fall a few years ago, before the Toads appeared on the scene.

The sign in front was from the auction. It was at the auction that Tony met Mike Thum, Bev Schiotz's husband and they began a conversation about a place for an art gallery in Ladysmith.

I had been feeling sad that I had not taken the time to photograph the house before the original yellow siding came off. But here it is, thanks to Google.
