A great opening weekend!

The toads had a wonderful time with the many, many people, old friends and newcomers who stopped to chat and to try the luscious treats and sour dough bread. However, the toad bakers are early risers and need to shorten the hours a little. Let's try 9 - 4 on Friday and Saturday and 11 - 2 on Sunday.

Toadally sorry for the inconvenience as we hop thru these beginning weeks!

Bakery and Gift Gallery open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!!!

After three years of destruction, construction, and daydreams, we received an all systems go for our little bakery and coffee shop. We hope you will be patient with the two old toads as we teach ourselves new tricks with the computerized cash register program and as we develop our bakery products.

This weekend we will have sourdough bread, kipfle, cinnamon rolls, King Ferdinand rolls, toad shaped cookies, those lovely cupcakes with the chocolate ganache', and maybe some other special treats along with a latte, Americano, espresso, special tea, or a regular drip-brewed coffee. The Gift Gallery at Toad House will be open and featuring some of our areas most talented visual artists. Bonnie Ohmstead, as curator, has created a lovely look to the Ellingboe and Kopka galleries. We are happy to take cash, check, or credit cards for any of your purchases.

On Saturday, the Artsy Kids will be able to enjoy and be inspired by this beauty as they come to explore their own creative talents with Pamm Spooner and Nancy Wheeler and learn a new weaving technique.

Children are always welcome to stop by the Little Library to choose a book to read and to donate a book if they wish. The toads hope children and adults will stop often in our little woods to enjoy the beauty and changing growth of the flowers and plants. We ask that children walk on the path so as to not disrupt the growing plants, potential poison ivy, and the elven folk and other woodland creatures.

We encourage you to use either parking lot. If you park in the lower lot you will have an easy and peaceful walk on the path to Toad House.

Thank-you! and we hope to enjoy your company at Toad House!

Tai Chi at Toad House

We hope you will join us on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 10:30 for a half hour Tai Chi session. During nice weather we will do Tai Chi on the front lawn or on the porch. It is lovely to do this beautiful exercise together in a group!

"So little to do and so much time!" --a quote from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Such an interesting concept! With everything going on at Toad House, it is difficult to keep up sharing those very special moments. We had a lovely gourd bird house activity last Saturday and unfortunately ran out of the prepared gourds. Maddie took it in stride and happily made a wonderful painting.

Here is one of the process of painting the gourds.

Friday evening Mme. Toad, a non-visual non-artist, took the charcoal painting class with Kathy Sprague and eleven other participants. Artists and non-artists were amazed by their results. We learned a lot, had a lovely meal together and a great time! Here are some photos of the process.

On Saturday evening, a terrific musical event occurred. The piano students of Laura Spores gave a wonderful recital. Families enjoyed celebrating a year's worth of accomplishments with these wonderful children and their gifted teacher. I hope to post a few photos soon.
