Toads have fun on the Frozen Flambeau

If you thought the toads spend their winter in hibernation, you may need to think again!  They were out on the ice for the fabulous fun on the frozen Flambeau.

Here are all the Toad helpers, Dillon Gazic, Mackenzee and Sidney Woodford, and their families. toad shows off his lovely colors created by these new friends.

If you look closely you will see a tunnel. The tunnel was created by these toad helpers with some additional help from the boy scouts. Quite an undertaking as Mr. Toad is about 12 feet long!

Beautiful Bowls from the Artsy Kids

On Saturday the Artsy Kids painted beautiful glass bowls as donations to the Soup Supper on  Wednesday, March 20th. We hope you will join us for soup and make a donation to the local food pantries. As a thank you for your donation, you may choose one of the beautiful bowls on display to take home as a reminder that many children and adults in our community have only empty bowls.

Toadally Artsy and Philanthropic Kids

This Saturday, the Toadally Artsy Kids will be painting bowls. The paints are especially formulated for glass and a trial bowls have gone through the dishwasher a number of times at my house, just to be sure! Some of the paints are also microwave safe, though not the glitter version.

The Empty Bowls project is connected to the soup suppers that occur during the season of Lent. People enjoy a light soup supper with friends and family from their community, donating money that goes to the local food pantries. They choose a hand painted or handmade bowl to take home, an empty bowl, as a reminder of all in our community who often have only empty bowls.

Toad House and the Rusk Area Arts Alliance are sponsoring this activity in support of programs to feed the hungry. Our Philanthropic children and adults will paint or create bowls that they will leave at Toad House until March 20th, the day of the soup supper at the Congregational United Church of Christ on Lake Avenue.

We hope you will join us!
