This Saturday, the Toadally Artsy Kids will be painting bowls. The paints are especially formulated for glass and a trial bowls have gone through the dishwasher a number of times at my house, just to be sure! Some of the paints are also microwave safe, though not the glitter version.
The Empty Bowls project is connected to the soup suppers that occur during the season of Lent. People enjoy a light soup supper with friends and family from their community, donating money that goes to the local food pantries. They choose a hand painted or handmade bowl to take home, an empty bowl, as a reminder of all in our community who often have only empty bowls.
Toad House and the Rusk Area Arts Alliance are sponsoring this activity in support of programs to feed the hungry. Our Philanthropic children and adults will paint or create bowls that they will leave at Toad House until March 20th, the day of the soup supper at the
Congregational United Church of Christ on Lake Avenue.
We hope you will join us!
