Thank you Kim and Amanda!

We are toadally grateful to Kim Schueller for planning and providing for a wonderful artsy event. Mme Toad had a lovely time watching the goings on.

Tis a busy fall at Toad House so the Toads are especially grateful to Amanda Wilmot for taking and sending beautiful photos from the Toadally Artsy Kids' Event.  Here are a few favorites.

This one, from the Enchanted Woods, warms Mme. Toad's heart.
And this one too, "Place your hand upon the
magic rock and promise you will never litter."
To start the activity, we chose a prepared muslim fabric with leaves outlined in gel glue. The gel glue is Kim's variation on the traditional hot wax of batik. We then spritzed on a little water to wet a leaf.

Spritz on 'just a little bit ' of water.
Now we chose fall leaf colors to paint the insides of our leaves.
Then we add fall color to the leaves on our muslim wall hanging
After spritzing the outside of the leaf patterns, we painted background colors for our fall leaves.
We love our blue sky and our orange and red leaves.

And when it is all done, and when the last toad cookie and the last lemonade has been consumed...

Isn't it just great to find a toad stool to sit upon and contemplate the wonder of it all.

Meadow and her Sunflower

The peanut butter used to stick on the parts of the faces was just too good for only the birds!

Waiting to Weave!

Here are a few photos from the set up at Toad House for a weaving morning with children and us toads.
Nancy Wheeler is organizing all the beautiful yarns.
We will make a friendship bracelet. You can make one to keep and one to give!
And a Halleluja Doll!
Everyone will enjoy using this large loom to make a mug rug!

Artsy Smiles and a Smiling Flower

Here are two more pictures from Saturday's Toadally Artsy Kids' Events.
The children are showing their creations.
This is how we pressed the flowers patterns onto our paper.
And VOILA, Lovely art!

More artsy classes to come! Mr. Flower is looking forward to his day in the spotlight.

Toadally Artsy Kid's Events

A lovely time; collecting leaves and flowers and bark and twigs from in and around the enchanted woods. We used water color stamp pads of many colors, pressing our leaves into the rich color and then lifting them and pressing them onto white fingerprint paper to make beautiful prints from our natural collections.

The Toad House Rocks!

Thank-you to the Hollywood Rock Starz, to Bill Roth, Phyllis Stevenson, Chris Locke, all who came and donated to the Enrichment Fund!
