Rock work Super-in-toad-ent

Here is Tony, hard at work, loading more rocks. Moments after this picture was taken, we noticed someone was watching us from across the street. He was sitting at the base of the Dairy Queen sign, much like a toad sits under a toadstool.

So here is Marv, equally hard at work across the street, supervising the rock work. Well, at least they are both in the fresh air and not holding down the chairs at McDonalds.

UP & DOWN Toads

Here are the two toads, climbing up and down the scaffolding, putting the siding on the tower. At the time of this writing, the scaffolding is now on the south side.

That Dastardly Troll

While wandering through the enchanted woods, Aaron came upon what appeared to be a troll. It is hard to say, for they disguise themselves well and blend into their surroundings. He took a few photos. Here is one of the photos.

They are not really scary, just odd. Please let me know if you find them when you walk through the woods. And if you see a troll where you live, please send me a photo. If you give me permission, I will post the photo of your troll on this blog for others to see. We'll do our best to keep track of the trolls. Remember, toads don't litter--only the dastardly trolls.

Great! Grading!

Jeff Zimmer, worked on Wednesday, the hottest, stickiest day of the year to do the final grading around Toad House. The parking lot, west of the enchanted woods, is now graveled and graded. The lawn and the driveway are graded also.  What next?? (we must have rocks in our head)

Very sadly, the small maple had to come out. It was trying it's best to hang on for dear life.
This is a view showing the edge of the driveway and the old soft maple.  It made the cut and will live another year, if disease and winds do not take it down.

Poor, poor toad

Toad met with a distressing accident recently just prior to the Mardi Gras parade. He forgot to duck while the Toad Truck driver was backing out of the garage.  Eye surgery was performed and Toad is as good as ever. Here are a few photos of the surgery.

The Path is finished!

Thanks to Rhoda Martin, Lance, and Arian Knops, the toads can now easily hop along the path on the look-out for trolls and that dastardly litter. Attempts to take pictures with my cell phone failed miserably, but I was able to save at least one of Lance Martin, shoveling the wood bark for the path.
And when it was all finished, the toads were at work, leaving signs along the way!

You can never take a toad--or a troll--too seriously!

The Dastardly Troll of the Toad House Woods

BEWARE!

All ye young lads and lassies!

This is an enchanted woods of faeries, hobbits, and elven folk.

Toad protects them from the litter made by the terrible troll. If you dare, place your hand upon the magic rock and promise you will NEVER litter. Step lightly upon the path and if you find a piece of troll liiter, BE BRAVE!

Pick up the troll's dastardly litter.
Place it in the sealed container--
and the magic of the enchanted woods will be yours!

SUMMER

So little to do and so much time.

Tony seems to have been looking for something. Could it be a toad?

No, no,  not a toad, but something for the front of the house.  He is building the front deck. It will wrap around from the large deck on the west side of Toad House.

And following is another view from the sidewalk--but can you see the deck? TOAD seems to have taken over the view.

And have you seen the troll??--I keep looking, but only have seen the dastardly litter that he leaves behind in the Toad House woods.
