The Day before the Deep Freeze.

......the week-end brought a hugh snow storm and on Monday, a deep freeze, that caused all but the hardiest toad to go into hibernation.

No, there are no toads under the piles of snow. You are in the upstairs art studio looking west towards the setting sun.

Here you have to use your imagination and dream of the future. You are looking out of the south window in the office. You are looking out onto the sidewalk and street. The daffodils and tulips are blooming and the spring peepers are croaking along with the toads.

Now you are on the third floor of the Rapunzel Tower (The photographer was just barely brave enough to poke her head above the floor to take a photo to the east.) It is 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 12th 2010.

Toads Hop and Stop

It was a very exciting week when the contractor showed up. Within three days the 2nd floor of the office and studio along with the Rapunzel Tower was up.
The above picture was taken towards the end of the first day the contractors were on the job. The first floor walls were up and the toads were high with hope!
The upper picture was taken towards the end of the third day. One of our workers is laying the decking of the 3rd story of the Rapunzel Tower and another is at the base of the ladder. We are so excited!  The lower picture was taken after the window opening to the west was framed up. The picture is from the parking lot of a business across the street.
